The Site Now Exists Differently!

Another name change! Based on an excellent suggestion (that he didn’t know he was suggesting for this purpose at the time) from Pastor Nathan at my church, in “this sermon”:http://resources.christianity.com/lakeview/talkInfo.jhtml?id=53614, I’ve picked a new name for my blog. Instead of the previous “Riddle Wrapped Up In an Enigma”, which although cool was also somewhat clumsy and nondescriptive, the new name is “Exist Differently”. Along with the new name comes a new domain: existdifferently.com

Finally, the guy who owns forty domain names buys a real one for his blog! :-)

  1. what on earth do you need 40 domain names for?

  2. That last comment was by me. Did you know that when I try to post more than one comment, your site thinks I’m a spammer? :(

  3. Yes, I got two emails saying the site “stopped spammers” that were really you. It has to do with how fast you post a second time…I’ll have to go through and check to see if I can increase the interval. When I first started, I had about fifty spams in about 3 hours or something, after my first post! It was crazy…so I put just about every anti-comment-spam solution I could find in place…I think one or two are really doing the trick since I haven’t even received many attempts, so I should go through now and remove some of the protections.

Anyway…your first question…forty domains are needed because I like them :-) Or, I use them for various hosting accounts I have. I don’t use many of them, but some (like kidsmonthly.com) I’m saving because it was the first domain I ever registered. Others, like trekfind.com or starfleetmail.com, I had back when I was running a big Star Trek fan site network that they were a part of, and they’re too good to let go of. Others are my name, or variations or different endings of my name. Some are just ones I found that I may want to run sites based on some day, and I wanted to keep a good domain I found along those lines.

Hey, they’re only approx. $9/yr each! That’s cheap! (Just don’t add up 40 times 9…I don’t like looking at it that way ;-)

Also, my anti-spam is so “good” that it actually stopped me from posting THIS comment the first time! :-)
